2014/35/EU LOW VOLTAGE DIRECTIVE
2014/35/EU Low Voltage Directive. European Union uses the Low Voltage Directive which applies to all electrical equipment and electrical products (electrical appliances & devices, cable & wire products, switching equipment, connectors, bodies, etc.) operating with an electrical input or output voltage ranging from 50 to 1000 V AC, and from 75 to 1500 V DC.
The requirements of this Directive have been implemented to ensure the safety of users and minimize risks to their health during operation in terms of protecting the consumer from electric shock, injury and burns, as well as in terms of the resistance of equipment to temperature changes and other atmospheric phenomena.
The standards of this Directive specify in detail the requirements with technical specifications, confirmed compliance with which (as well as with the standards of other Directives, for example, the Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive) permits applying the CE mark and grants products access to the EU markets.
